Adithya Institute of Technology arranged for the public viewing of every stage of Lunar Eclipse through telescope on 31st January 2018 from 6:45 pm to 8:30 pm. 700+ people including young children and older adults around the area eagerly visited the campus to see the “Super Blue Blood Moon”, which is a rare celestial triple treat. While the children were seen thrilled to witness it for the first time, the adults were equally excited about it. 40+ students and 20+ staff from the college volunteered the event and helped public in viewing a rare and beautiful sight of the moon. 5 telescopes including the 8“ Newtonian Telescope, 4“ SCT on a computerized mount, 4“ Newton on an altazimuth mount were fixed in the campus which gave a very clear and enhanced view of the super moon. The event was also displayed in a big screen to the gathering.
